50/50 What Christmas is really about.

Yesterday as we were decorating the  family Christmas tree Ben said something that warmed my heart .
In his sweet 8 year old voice he said" Did you all know that 50% of Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ our savior and the other 50% is about presents?"
Just when I thought OK he got half of it he said more.
"I think the reason we have presents is because Jesus was a present God gave the world so every Christmas we give each other presents to help us remember  Jesus "

I had tears in my eyes because he got it he got it all the 100% reason we have Christmas is to celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.
This was a very happy mommy moment for me.

I want to end this post with a quote that I love.

"With the birth of the babe in Bethlehem, there emerged a great endowment—a power stronger than weapons, a wealth more lasting than the coins of Caesar. This child was to become the King of kings and Lord of lords, the promised Messiah—Jesus Christ, the Son of God."— Thomas S. Monson

  1. oh my goodness what a wonderful thing to have heard come from your son's mouth! I just love it when you get to realize that your children truly are "getting it!"
