'Les Miserables

On Satuerday Dale and I took Robbie and Mylissa to see Les Miserables.
The both have seen the other Les Mise with Liam Nesian nd Robbie red the book a few years ago.
Dale has never seen the play or red the book so he went into the movie blind.
Just in case you have never heard of Les Mise here is a quick rap up of what the book and play is about.

Set in 19th century France, the film, based on Victor Hugo's book and the subsequent hit musical, follows ex-prisoner Jean Valjean  as he's hunted for decades by relentless policeman Javert  after he breaks parole. Valjean ends up caring for young Cossette, the daughter of factory worker Fantine , a move that changes their lives forever.
I love the story of Les Miserabels I first read the book in JR high and have seen the play in many different forums but never on Broadway a dream of mine one day.

I thought the movie was well done loved Anne Hathaways rendtion of  Fantine and Huge Jackman was just awesome as Valjean who new he could sing so well.
My family loved it and I was happy to share with them one of my favorite things in the world Musical.
I grew up watching and attending musicals and always thought my life should be one.
If you know us well that would never happen we can't sing that's not true we can sing but nobody would want to listen to us on a daily basis

Cell phone pix

If you know me well you know I am always taking random pix on my cell phone.
I mostly Facebook them but rarely blog them.
Some of my Cellphone pictures are down right funny or just plane weird.
I thought it would be fun to start sharing them each Sunday it will kinda be a boring and sometimes exciting recap of my week.
So here we go

Love donuts with sprinkles I always want to take pictures of them.

Carroll came for a visit he was happy to see us after being a part for Two days.

Garrett's a goof what can I say.

Ben being the thinker not sure who took this pic.

I take a lot these pix

Shelly and Mylissa in an fun game.

Carroll was in a trance with this tooth paste can.

Ben was having fun scaring me.

Snowy night it was super pretty out..
I like how this picture looks with the screen in the way.

There you go my week in Cellphone pix.

7 years

7 years a go today I did something a mother should never have to do ,
I held my sweet little boy as he took his last breath.
It was the hardest thing I have ever done but I was glad that it was me as hard as it was it was a sweet moment .
I think of this moment often and it gives me peace knowing he new he was loved and that it was ok to go home to his Heavenly Father.
I miss him terribly but I know through the mercy , love and atonement of Christ I will see him again. this gives me peace and hope and the ability to heal from such heart ache.

I am grateful for the 17 beautiful days we had to spend with William.
I love you baby boy and I miss you.

A crafty few days.

The last two days I have been feeling crafty.

I was running errands the other day and found some lovely beads so I made them into these three bracelets.

I loved how they turned out I will be wearing them a lot.

Yesterday I was hanging with the kids and watching Face off  I cant sit still when I watch TV or a movie so I decided to make my famous boutique flowers.
I may have went a little overboard but it was fun.

This project coincides with one of my new years goals which is to make some of the things I have on my saved list and have pinned on pitrest.
I found this lovely on a Etsy page about 2 years a go and saved it.

I played around yesterday and figured it out.
I love how it turned out its super chic and fun!
I have already had request for a tutorial and maybe next week I will make one.
We will see.
So there you have it my crafty 2 days.

18.Do something creative every day.

19. Do 39 things out of my comfort zone.

20. Help my children recognize there talents.

So How did I do you might ask not bad but not great.

I completed 3,4,6,9,10,11,15,17,20.
I can say I did these things in there entirety  and I can say doing each of these things have made me a better person.
I feel like I was a better mom this year defiantly more fun than I have been in a long time.
I ate foods I would not normally eat and found somethings I did not know I would like raw egg plant is a new favorite.
I made a few baby quilts.
I learned 2 new skills 1. running  yes learning to run properly is a skill. I read books and magazines that helped me know how to breath and keep a good pace. I can now say I love to run! 2. I learned how to quilt I am not great at it but I can now quilt.
Hiking the incline was hard but I learned a lot about my self and hope to hike it again next year.
Helping my kids discover there talents was fun. who new how good of a swimmer Ben would be!

I mostly did 19,18,16,8,7,5
I am in much better shape than I was when I started 2012 not the best shape to start my 40's but I think in the next 4 month I will reach that goal.
I did a lot of things out of my comfort zone this year like hiking the incline I just did not count how many things I did.
I wrote almost every day in my journal.
I tried to do something kind in nice everyday most days I was successful.
I made many new recipes this year just not every week.

Not even close was I to making goal 1,2,13,12

I can say I was a better scripture reader in 2012 then I have been in a long time but I was not even close to every day.
For my defense I say every year I want to learn to ballroom dance one year I will take lessons so I always added it to my goal list.
I also always have run a half marathon on my list, I never ran an official  race this year I got up to running the distance of a 10K . I am thinking next year I might just make the goal of running a half marathon;)
I think Crochet will be on my list again I really want to learn.

So there you have it my success and my failures of 2012.

Williams Star!

My best friend Berni Joe gave me this beautiful star on Williams 1st birthday.
I love this star I only take it out during Christmas.

I almost forgot this year because I was busy and sick then one afternoon I was in my closet and saw the box it was in and pulled it down and took it out and hung it on the tree.
As always when I touch or see Williams things I feel him close.
It was a nice sweet moment this happens a lot this time of year.
William just knows I need to feel his presents and he comes to me.
I love this connection with him.
This star also makes me remember just how many people love me and just know when I need a little pick me up.
I am a very blessed girl indeed.

Snow fun!!

The other day it snowed  it was icky and windy and the kids could not play in it much that day.
The next day was a different story it was sunny and warm so the kids played in the snow all day.

Ben was so hot he took his coat off he played this way for 3 hours.
He is such a hot blooded boy.

Garrett on the other hand shoveled side walks all day on his own with out asking the neighbors or getting paid.
He loves to shovel snow it was his favorite winter activity growing up, I think he misses Alaska.
I as a mother find great pride in Garrett's hard work ethics.

Sick!

10 days before Christmas I got very sick, all of my family had already had the crud I guess it was my turn.
It started out just feeling aches and pains the next day I was vomiting then I had the chills and headache, last was the sore throat from Hell and the deep chest ache.
Some days I felt like I just wanted to die.
{I just look so pretty}

I hate being sick I rarely get sick maybe tats why I have no tolerances for being sick.
The hardest part about being sick was not getting things the way I wanted it for Christmas.
The only good part of being sick was the way my family took care of me.
I really do have some amazing kids.

3 awesome boys.

Yesterday I was super sick I spent most of the day in bed.
at around 3 o'clock I finally went down stairs for the first time I was mad to say the least when I saw the mess that was my house.
My house looked like it had threw up.
My girls were no where to be found and they were the ones that made the mess.
My boys saw that I was upset and told me to go back up stairs.

For the next 2o mins my boys swept vacuumed and picked everything up and made the house look shiny and new.

I was so happy when I came back down stairs.
Who ever marry s these 3 boys are supper luck A. Because they know how to clean and B. because they are smart and know what to do when a women is upset.
I love these boys and are very blessed to be their mom.

Caramel Marshmallow Popcorn

A few weeks a go I went to a pie breakfast yes you heard me right a pie breakfast as in eating pie for breakfast.
One of gals brought her famous caramel popcorn.
It was soft and gooey and just plain evil.
I asked for the recipe I was shocked when she said marshmallows was one of the ingredients.
Yesterday I was craving caramel popcorn it was the only thing that sounded good to me so I got out of my sick bed and made some.
The only problem was I had deleted the email my friend sent me with the recipe so I just went from memory.
Thank goodness I have a pretty good memory ether that or I have dumb luck.

Here is the recipe.

Snow day.

Today has been super snowy it was the last day of school before winter break but it was a snow day.

I was grateful because I have been super sick for the last 3 days.
Last night I started vomiting.
So today I slept all day long.

This was my view from my bedroom all day.

Madeline was the only one to brave to snow and wind.
The news was saying that we might have a white Christmas I am hopping the news is right.
White Christmases are the one thing that was given in Alaska.
It's been so warm here I had lost all hope of a white Christmas.
